Episode 09

White American Predation and the History of Legalized Sexual Violence Against Black Women, Girls, Boys, and Men

Premiering:  Saturday, February 1st, 2025

In this episode, Dante sits down with Dr. Rochelle Hooks, Alexis Cobbins, and Jessica Brown to explore chapter three of his book, Diagnosing Whiteness and Anti-Blackness: White Psychopathology, Collective Psychosis, and Trauma in America. The panelists examine how White American legislatures and courts historically determined that only white women could be victims of rape. They discuss how laws were specifically created across the country to exempt Black women from rape protections. Many judges and courts also interpreted existing laws in ways that suggested rape laws did not apply to Black women and girls, as white society deemed them immoral or promiscuous.

Black men were assaulted through sodomy and subjected to perpetual grooming by White men, conditioning them to adopt the harmful behavioral patterns of their oppressors—groomed into becoming rapists and pedophiles.

This episode takes an unexpected turn when Dante King nearly shuts down the entire discussion, reacting to what seems like female objectification and a trivialization of the topic. Tune in for this intense and thought-provoking conversation!
