Blackademics is a dynamic, educational platform dedicated to empowering Black individuals and communities through knowledge, mentorship, and advocacy. Our mission is to dismantle systemic oppression, foster intellectual growth, and create pathways for personal and communal transformation. We believe that education is the foundation for lasting change, and through our diverse programs, we seek to cultivate leaders, thinkers, and change-makers who will challenge the status quo and uplift future generations.

At the core of Blackademics is a commitment to holistic support, offering resources that cater to the needs of teens, young adults, adults, and seniors. From scholarships and mentorship to skills training and mental health support, we provide a comprehensive approach to empowerment. Thousands of people have already benefited from Blackademics' work, including participants from community institutions like the Oakland Public Libraries, San Francisco public centers, and prisons across the nation, where we've donated books and educational resources.

As we continue to expand, Blackademics is preparing to launch our transformative Blackademics Bootcamp in July 2025, an intensive program designed to equip participants with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to thrive in today's world. This initiative is just one of the many ways we aim to make a lasting impact.

Our vision goes beyond individual transformation; we are dedicated to reshaping communities and creating a ripple effect of positive change. Whether you are a learner, mentor, donor, or advocate, there is a place for you in the Blackademics community. Together, we can confront systemic inequalities and foster a future grounded in equality, justice, and opportunity for all.

Join us on this journey of empowerment, education, and transformation - because when Black minds thrive, everyone benefits.

Blackademics Reparations Project

The Cost of Attacks on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

As a direct result of the ongoing attacks against diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), Dante King—who has personally self-funded Blackademics—has suffered an annual funding loss of approximately $250,000.

Institutions such as Mayo Clinic and the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Medical School, along with UCSF’s broader network, were forced to sever ties with Dante King—not due to any fault of their own, but as casualties of the larger, racist political climate that continues to undermine DEI initiatives.

The ripple effect has been devastating. Blackademics’ current and future funding efforts have been crippled, threatening the continuation of critical educational programs that challenge systemic racism, uplift Black voices, and advance truth in education.

This moment is a stark reminder of the hostile environment we face—and the urgent need to mobilize support to sustain and grow Black-led educational initiatives.

Support the Truth: Fund Transformational Education

Now more than ever, the dissemination of factual American history—especially the histories of Black Americans and Indigenous Peoples—is under attack. We need your support to continue delivering transformative educational opportunities and amplifying critical narratives that challenge historical erasure. We are raising funds to establish both a monthly and annual budget that will sustain the promotion and dissemination of vital educational content.

How You Can Help:

  • We are calling on White individuals, allies, and supporters to commit to a minimum contribution of $100 per month for 3–5 years, or a one-time donation of $3,500 to $10,000, to help sustain this work.

  • We encourage leveraging personal and professional networks—such as social groups, book clubs, and professional organizations—to aid in soliciting both large and small donations.

We recognize that not everyone may be able to contribute at this level, and we welcome donations of any amount—every dollar helps!

Your support makes a difference. Join us in preserving and sharing the truth.
